BURMA ROAD DATE: Sunday, May 4th SCENARIO: The scenario setting is the steamy jungles of Indochina. The India/Asia Theater, World War II. The occupation Japanese Army is transporting critical supplies and war materials on the Burma Road. At the "Quebec Conference" August 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and other allied leaders decided that an American Long Range Penetration Mission behind the Japanese Lines in Burma was needed to destroy the Japanese supply lines and communications and to play havoc with the enemy forces while an attempt was made to reopen the much needed Burma Road. President Roosevelt issued a Presidential call for volunteers for "A Dangerous and Hazardous Mission". An all volunteer group of brave young soldiers came together in the jungles of Burma. From different life styles and every part of the country they came to fight our enemy, each for their own reasons. "During their campaigns they were apparently forgotten, frequently lost, occasionally mutinous, and almost always "Magnificent." Please join us on Sunday 4 May 2003 for all out Guerilla Warfare in the steamy jungles of Skirmish, USA. PAINT: Event Paint Only! Available throughout the entire game at .05 per ball. D-DAY DATE: Saturday, July 12th and Sunday, July 13th. SCENARIO: Again his year Skirmish USA reprises D-Day; our 24 hour scenario game. The beaches are still in the early morning light, German forces secure in their protective bunkers calmly anticipate the allied attack. In the landing craft, US soldiers nervously await the first wave of assaults. The landing craft gangplanks slam down, and anxious soldiers rush out onto a painfully barren shore and a very uncertain future. As the Nazi bunkers spew a tremendous barrage of fire the attacking forces dig into their tenuous hiding spots, wishing they could evaporate into the ground. Skirmish, USA will transform our front field acreage into the beaches of Normandy for this production. Landing craft will disgorge US warriors from 6 locations for their assault across 75 yards of wide open beachhead complete with bunkers, tank traps, and disabled military vehicles. The action will be intense. Will the German defense hold? Can the allied landing possibly succeed against such insurmountable odds? German artillery barrages will pound the beach, as machine gun fire rakes every possible hiding spot. The allied destroyers big off shore guns will shell the German implacements. Success or failure for the allies will hinge on their determination, and the capable efforts of paratroops inserted behind enemy lines. Once (or if) the landing succeeds the fighting will move inland to the farm lands and villages of France. Scenario players will be able to interact with French resistance, Vichy French, Gestapo agents, even Berlin Betty the Nazi radio propagandist. There will be house to house fighting during the night as searchlights sweep the fields. Come out to enjoy the fun and savor the action. PAINT: Event Paint Only! Available throughout the entire game at .05 per ball. CALL 1-800-SKIRMISH FOR RESERVATIONS!!!
